Ramadan

Ramadan is the month  where the Quran was revealed. In the Qur’an it is said :

We sent it (this Qur’an) down on a blessed Night. Verily, We are ever warning (mankind of Our Torment). Therein (that Night) is decreed every matter of ordainment. Amran (i.e. a command or this Qur’an or His Decree of every matter) from Us. Verily, We are ever sending (the Messenger). (As) a Mercy from your Lord. Verily! He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower.” (Ad-Dukhaan 44: 3-6)

This is the month Qur’an was revealed  to Prophet Muhammad. (Pbuh). In this month it is a month of blessings. Muslims are supposed to fast from dawn to break of day. At this time they cannot eat to drink and abstain from all type of abuses. Then after being engaged in prayer and rememberance of Allah ,at the call of Adhan or day break they break their fast or Sawm. After Isha prayers there is Taraweeh prayers which consist of 20 rakats. Muslims practice  patience, humility and self control. There is no breakfast, lunch or afternoon snacks so what do Muslim women do all day in Ramadan. They prepare iftar or the original break fast. Well you are fasting all day and then you are breaking it.
