The Rui fish or Labeo rohita is a species  of Fish found in Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Srilanka. The thing with fishes is that Bengali people from Bangladesh and India both enjoy fish.

Whilst Non Bengalis from both India and Pakistan do not like fish that much.

The fish is silver coloured and at maximum weights 45 kg.

There was time in the 1990s in Houston.Texas, my mother and I was invited to a half Bengali Family.

The husband was Bengali and wife was American (originally  French). I had visted their house earlier. (With my dad).

So I told my mom that the lady of the house was going to ask you what you want eat for dinner. You just tell her that  you want to have fish that is all.

My mother insisted on having Fish.

The French lady cooked and when my mother ate it,she was like very surprised. This is because Bengali women take pride in cooking fish curry. So here was an American doing something unexpected:cooking Salmon fish, tasted like Bengali cooking in a refined way.

The French can cook. Anyway Bon Apetit’!
